“Power comes in all different forms, and the way Ben Clarke embodies it is surely an extraordinary expression.

Distinguished, brilliant, heart driven, Ben has created a journey of his life that has been epic, heart breaking, beautiful, and exemplary. From England to Calgary, home has had more than 20 identities through 5 countries.

Growing up, Ben’s family moved a lot and after his PhD in Cambridge he continued that theme as he traveled throughout the world on oil and gas expeditions. Change continued to mark Ben’s his life as it brought him marriage and later divorce. Through these events, family relationships changed, his spirituality was challenged, and his core was rocked. But as a good coach will tell you, breakthrough cannot truly happen without breakdown.

With the support of the mountains and the great outdoors, Ben sought solidarity for doing deep work and becoming the man he is today. Through his rebirth, love and family came back into his life, a strengthened faith in church, and humility, compassion, and a clear mission of his deep love for people.

Life continued to evolve for Ben as he remarried and left his successful career in oil and gas to become a leadership coach. “I work with people who inspire me. I work with people who care deeply about the people around them, and high performers that have a clear idea of where they’re going.” 4 daughters, 3 pianos, 2 dogs, and a beautiful wife…Ben’s life is whole. A central theme in his life is integrity, value and honour. He keeps this present with him daily as he chose the last line of a poem by Robert Frost to decorate his right arm as a reminder of the importance of honoring promises and commitments from the earlier, pained lessons of divorce and life.

If you know Ben today, you may experience him as wise beyond his years. That sort of gift one is born with. But to ask him, he’ll tell you, he still has “miles to go before I sleep”
